Continues from Part 1
* Too Much Attention - As crazy as this may sound, by giving your Chihuahua too much attention and "babying", they can develop unhealthy attachment issues. A few things you can do to avoid this is to let your Chihuahua sleep in their own bed at night (not yours), and don't hold them all the time. You need to let them know that it is OK to be without you.
* Punishment - Many people are misinformed about punishing their Chihuahuas. You should never hit, spank, slap, or even yell at your Chihuahua. The correct form of punishment should be speaking a negative command, such as "No", or "Bad", firmly at them.
* Housebreaking - A lot of people think Chihuahuas are hard to housebreak. Well, some can be difficult, but if you are patient, consistent, and keep a close eye on them, you shouldn't have a problem. Using a crate will also help to keep your Chihuahua confined when you can't watch them.

Like we all know, not only celebrities might be seen in celeb gossip blogs (and magazines, of course) but their pets too. And many celebs own Chihuahuas. Let's now speak about celebs and their Chihuahuas!
Who will be the first to speak about? Marilyn Monroe and her Chihuahua ChooChoo!
In brief: at the time she was signed by Columbia Pictures in 1948, Marilyn Monroe owned a pet Chihuahua named Josepha. But she usually called it Choochoo, more or less after the song "Chatanooga Choo Choo".

Do Chihuahuas Have Allergies?

Well, unfortunately, yes, Chihuahuas can have allergies. Dogs can have 2 types of allergies. Dog’s external allergy occurs most often. If your Chihuahua has an external allergy, then your pet is allergic to things from the outside of their own body, these might be dust, pollen etc. Most frequently Chihuahuas have allergy to dog shampoo.
But they also might have an internal allergy, this means that your dog has an allergy reaction to something from the inside of its body. This might be dog food or drugs. The easiest way to treat such allergy is to avoid the source of dog’s allergy.
But it’s not easy when you do not know yet what exactly makes your Chihuahua suffer. Dog’s allergies occur quite often, 20% of all dogs have it.
How to recognise an external allergy? Like we already said, it causes your dog to have an allergic reaction to something from the outside of its body. The most frequent symptom of such allergy is itching. Well, a dog might scratch because of fleas too, but if it hasn’t fleas, then it’s most likely an external allergy.
Internal allergies occurs of something that was ingested by your dog, it might cause coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, a wheezing noise and expulsion of mucus from the dog's nose or mouth. Often dog have food allergy, it will cause vomiting and/or diarrhoea, which is not normal for a healthy dog. If you give your Chihuahua good and proper food, but the dog still have these symptoms, then it’s most likely a food allergy.
